Ten Haiku Songs for Tenor and Piano composed by aaron blumenfeld PLAY ALBUM TEN HAIKU SONGS (press browser back-arrow to return here) I feel very honored that Professor Blumenfeld composed this music for ten of my haiku, in 2018. He passed away last year, 2023. The piano compositions were recorded by Dov Manski, except for "I am not Perplexed", which was recorded by Mark Dieter. Dov also improvised the 3rd page of "perceive, o humans",which seemed to be missing. Kristin Eilene has beautifully recorded the lyric vocal tracks which accompany the piano. My sincere thanks to these fine musicians! Honestly, it gives me goosebumps to hear the songs come to life. (note: The "Shemah", in Hebrew, follows a 5-7-5 format syllable pattern, as does The "Ancient Wadi" (song of Deborah), and "Sit on my right hand" (a psalm of David), from biblical translations. I use the same pattern in the other songs in this collection.) Also, be sure to pause or finish one composition before playing another, as I have not yet figured out how to avoid playing them simultaneously)
