Ten Haiku Songs
I feel very honored that Professor Blumenfeld composed this music for ten of my haiku, in 2018. He passed away last year, 2023. The piano compositions were recorded by Dov Manski, except for "I am not Perplexed", which was recorded by Mark Dieter. Dov also improvised the 3rd page of "perceive, o humans", which seemed to be missing. I am grateful to both of these fine pianists for the recordings they have made for my use. I hope to be able to find a vocalist to someday complete an album of the work. (note: The "Shemah", in Hebrew, is in a perfect 5-7-5 haiku format. The "Ancient Wadi" (song of Deborah), and "Sit on my right hand" (a psalm of david), paraphrased from Biblical translations, were nearly if not exactly, in a 5-7-5 format. Also, be sure to pause or finish one composition before playing another, as I have not yet figured out how to avoid playing them simultaneously)
