the war in gaza ( june 2024 ) on october 7, 2023 an incredibly brutal surprise attack was made by hamas, against a a civilian population in israel. hamas is the governing military junta of gaza. many of the israeli victims were brave supporters of palaestinian causes. ------ enclosed in a web the gazans have been misled by their government -------------------- the hamas attack was designed and destined to provoke far reaching turmoil, calling up old prejudices. ----- undead nazi lies passed down by their leadership pervades their world view -------------------- there is much protest to the israeli reaction to the attack, even in israel. there, the return of hostages is the primary concern of many, as well as the toll on both sides of the war. how should any nation defend itself when subjected to a similar attack we need not look back very far in our own u.s. history to see the answer to this question is not an easy one. ----- do we understand how people with fine minds are manipulated -------------------- perhaps an immediate, unambiguous response by the united nations and world powers, against the october 7th attack, would have contained the fighting. ----- when power unchecked is held in the hands of few the people are wrecked -------------------- now a slowly unfolding cease-fire, a few days or maybe some weeks at a time, step-by-step negotiation, without tactical movement, without further incitement, may spare innocent lives and bring lasting peace. ----- war must be opposed tyranny must be opposed hate we must reject on these three pillars that somehow stand together nations rest their fate --------------------
